CarPlay compatibility guide
Before ordering: BMW CarPlay compatibility depends on the exact head unit, vehicle equipment and software. A model year alone is not enough to confirm support.
NBT EVO iD5 / iD6
- Open iDrive settings and look for the navigation / software version information. A VIN or clear photos of the software-version screen can help us identify the system.
- Software versions are commonly shown with a release identifier beginning with a letter and numbers. The letter alone is not a guarantee of full-screen support; exact I-level and head-unit details must be checked.
- If CarPlay is already active but only displays in a smaller window, a compatible software update may be required. Ask us about the separate Full-Screen CarPlay Software Update service.
iD4 / NBT EVO iD4
- An iD4-to-iD6 flash is a separate service from a full-screen software update. Suitability depends on the exact NBT EVO unit and vehicle configuration.
- Do not buy the iD4-to-iD6 flash as a substitute for a full-screen update without a VIN check.
EntryNav
- EntryNav compatibility varies by unit and factory equipment. Send your VIN and photos of the iDrive navigation/software information screen for confirmation.
- Do not purchase an NBT EVO activation until the head unit has been identified.
